As the owner of Mount Lawley Pest Control, my job often takes me to places where I’m dealing with unwelcome visitors. But there’s one place in our community that is a magnet for positive energy and activity: Beatty Park Leisure Centre.
Located just on the edge of Mount Lawley in North Perth, Beatty Park is so much more than a swimming pool. It’s a true community hub and a place with a fascinating history. Built for the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, it has since been a cornerstone of Perth’s sporting and recreational life. It’s amazing to think that some of the world’s top athletes have competed here, and now it’s a place where families and fitness enthusiasts of all ages come to train, swim, and relax.
For me, it’s the sheer variety that stands out. You have the Olympic-sized outdoor pools, perfect for serious swimmers and squad training, as well as the indoor heated pools that are a lifesaver on a cold winter day. Then there’s the leisure pool, with its water slides and fun features that keep the kids entertained for hours. It’s a place where everyone in the family can find something to enjoy.
Beyond the pools, the facilities are top-notch. The gym is always buzzing, with a wide range of equipment and classes. They also have an impressive range of fitness programs, catering to everything from high-intensity training to gentle aqua aerobics. I often hear from clients how much they value the programs offered there.
In my line of work, I see the importance of a clean and well-maintained environment, and Beatty Park is a testament to that. It’s a place that is consistently clean, well-run, and welcoming, which is something the community truly appreciates.
Beatty Park Leisure Centre is a vital part of our neighbourhood. It’s a place that brings people together, promotes health and well-being, and continues to be a source of pride for our area.
