HBF Stadium Perth, What Mount Lawley Needs To Know

As the owner of Mount Lawley Pest Control, my work takes me to all kinds of venues, from the small and local to the grand and spectacular. Among Perth’s most significant is HBF Stadium, a place that holds a special place in our city’s sporting and cultural history.

Located in Mount Claremont, HBF Stadium has been a cornerstone of Western Australian sport and recreation for decades. It opened in 1986 as the “Superdrome” and has had a few name changes since then, but its purpose has always remained the same: to provide a world-class venue for athletes and the community. It’s home to some of the best aquatic facilities in the country, including three 50-meter pools, a diving pool, and a water polo pool. This is where many of our state’s top swimmers train and where major competitions, like the World Swimming Championships in 1991 and 1998, have been held.

But HBF Stadium is more than just a pool. Its large main arena has been the home court for some of our state’s most successful teams, including the Perth Wildcats and the West Coast Fever before they moved to RAC Arena. It’s also a versatile space that can be transformed for a huge variety of events, from indoor sports like basketball and netball to major concerts and exhibitions.

The stadium is a great example of a facility that serves both elite athletes and the general public. You can go for a casual swim, join a group fitness class, or train at the gym, all in the same place where some of Australia’s best athletes are preparing for competition.

In my line of work, I see the importance of a well-maintained and clean environment. Venues like HBF Stadium are a testament to the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to keep our public spaces safe and enjoyable for everyone. It’s a true asset to our city and a place that I’m proud to have in our community’s backyard.
