For over 20 years, my family and I have called Mount Lawley home. As the owner of Mount Lawley Pest Control, my work takes me all over the area, but there’s one place that always feels like coming home: Hyde Park.
You can’t live in Mount Lawley without developing a deep appreciation for this park. It’s more than just a patch of green; it’s the community’s heart. I’ve seen it all, from the early morning joggers and boot camps to the families enjoying picnics on the weekend. My kids grew up playing on those playgrounds, and now they’re teenagers who still meet up with their friends by the big lake.
In my line of work, I’m constantly dealing with nature’s less-than-desirable inhabitants. But at Hyde Park, I get to appreciate the good side of nature. The majestic trees that provide so much shade on a hot summer’s day are simply stunning. And the lakes, with their families of ducks and swans, create such a peaceful atmosphere. It’s a true urban oasis.
The park is also a brilliant spot for events, from the community markets and concerts to the fun runs. It brings everyone together, celebrating what’s great about our neighbourhood.
Hyde Park is not just a landmark; it’s a part of our daily lives. It’s where we take a break, enjoy the sunshine, and connect with our neighbours. It’s an essential part of what makes Mount Lawley such a wonderful place to live, and I’m grateful to have it right on our doorstep.
